Choose your tablet

Will 2011 be the year of the tablet? I think 2011 is the beginning of a new age of computing. in 2010 Apple proved it was possible and now the rest follow chanting  The PC is dead, long live the PC!

Choosing the tablet that fits your need can be difficult so fresh off Engadget, with the help of “hpe” I got this technical comparison between Apple iPad 2, Motorola XOOM, HP TouchPad and the BlackBerry PlayBook. All of them looks good but the only one i wouldn’t buy is the HP TouchPad because i have no belief in the future of WebOS as an operating system.

Engadget has also reviewed the devices earlier for Apple iPad 2 and for Motorola XOOM.

Tech Radar has also written a comparison review of all the devices but it compares to the first iPad model and can be found here: http://www.techradar.com/news/mobile-computing/hp-touchpad-vs-ipad-vs-xoom-vs-playbook-927486

CrackBerry review of the Playbook: http://crackberry.com/blackberry-playbook-review

Not to forget… The Galaxy Tab 10.1″ also look like a good choice if you prefer Android.

If you prefer Microsoft Windows you’d best off waiting for Windows vNext, no matter how happy Ballmer is with his HP windows 7 touchable 13 inch keyboardless computer with pen. Another important thing to keep in mind is that between all these platforms, tech specs shouldn’t be the only factor you rely on when choosing. More important than tech specs is the availability of the software you need on it to get anything meaningful done. It’s when you compare against the same platform it’s important like iPad vs. iPad 2 or Galaxy Tab vs. Motorola Xoom.
